这场展览围绕“地方”这一主题展开,探讨亚裔美国艺术家如何在离散背景下理解、建构与表达空间与归属。通过多样的媒介,艺术家们展现了“地方”既是现实的,也是想象的,既是固定的,也是流动的。This exhibition navigates the subject of place, exploring how it is interpreted, constructed, and communicated by Asian American artists with diasporic backgrounds. Through diverse mediums, these artists illustrate how place is both real and imagined, fixed and fluid. 
AirTrain 
Revamping the branding for JFK AirTrain, the airport rail link serving New York City’s International Airport, with a focus on creating an efficient, user-friendly, and inclusive travel experience for passengers.

Images Festival
Images Festival is an experimental film festival. This identity project draws inspiration from film editing techniques, an approach celebrates each frame of a video and the transformative power of moving images.

BACKGROUND
 
正值二三十岁、在海外闯荡艺术圈的中国单身女性,常常一边画图、一边应对“你什么时候结婚”的灵魂拷问。家人关心,社会有话,内心还时不时冒出点冒牌者综合症。从小在“保护式”家庭中长大的我,虽然成绩从不差,却很少被训练如何自信表达、独立决策。于是,在本该闪闪发光的年纪,我常常纠结于一边努力成长,一边小心翼翼地问自己:“我这样,可以吗?”
Growing up in a small town, in my community, personal choices—especially around career, marriage, or location—are rarely just personal. My family conversations can be laced with silent markers of success: stability, partnership, proximity to home, and comparison to the neighbours. Over the years I became increasingly aware of the quiet gaps between ambition and belonging. Somehow, I was pressured to succeed, but not taught to assert or define myself. So while I was allowed to pick my field of study, I struggled with confidence and commitment. That gap—between freedom and actual autonomy—left me questioning my choices, and whether I was enough. 

Later on, I learned that I’m not alone in this. So many women like me are navigating careers, cultures, and creative identities all at once—while unlearning shame and building confidence on our own terms. NC8 began as a response to that tension. 

PROJECT BRIEF

NC8 is a creative initiative to connect and empower individual Chinese women creatives to become their best selves and produce their most meaningful work.

This project is not about offering solutions from above. It’s about curating tools, voices, and frameworks that invite others to share stories. The idea is completed through self research, visual design, editorial thinking.

To create a space that allows creative women like myself to define success on their own terms. This initiative approaches the creative process from a starting point with access to inspirations, to a place to create works, and to a community to give back.

There are 689 million Chinese women worldwide, with approximately 60 million aged 25 to 35. If even 1 in 10 of them is, like me, seeking creative independence and self-definition, that’s a potential audience of 6 million women who could benefit from a platform like NC8.

NC8 stands for New Chinese, a perspective for opportunities and possibilities of one’s own definition of identity, and 8, a cultural lucky number represents fortune. 

The kanji 人 means a person.

The human-curated podcast archive is organized through an interactive web of key figures and ideas. This helps users discover inspiring people and topics through nonlinear, intuitive exploration.
